Assistant Showroom Manager

Based in the heart of the Scottish capital, we have maintained our jewellery & silver workshops since our inception and have a held a Royal Warrant as silversmiths to Her Majesty the Queen for more than 120 years. To this day, we proudly continue to curate a range of fine jewellery designed and made from our own artisan team and workshops.

Hamilton & Inches Assistant Showroom Manager holds a vital position, supporting the Showroom Manager from our flagship Showroom to drive forward the company and Showroom objectives. The Assistant Showroom Manager is dynamic, motivated and conveys the Hamilton & Inches brand values in every interaction, delivering exception customer experience. Alongside the Showroom Manager they mentor and coach the team to be world class in service leading from the front at every opportunity. This person strives for operational excellence and can support the wider management team in delivering results.

The Role

  • Assist the Showroom Manager to ensure the objectives of the Company, Store and Brands are achieved through the day-to-day operations. Where objectives are not achieved, there will be a requirement to drive actions plans and accountability to ensure targets can be reached
  • To support the Showroom Manager in ensuring the strategy of each brand is achieved, and where not, plans are put in place to ensure achievement at the next opportunity
  • Support with delivery of day-to-day operations, including staff rota’s, daily planning, stock management and monitoring of overall Showroom sales targets
  • Support the Showroom Manager to drive continual improvement of processes ensuring the Showroom and associated team are operating to the best of their abilities
  • Build strong and lasting relationships with customers, and continually look to attract new customers across all channels of the business
  • Strives to meet or exceed sales targets continuously
  • Ensures all team members abide by general house-keeping responsibilities in our Showroom, this includes, but is not exclusive to, stock management, sales reporting, visual merchandising standards, health and safety and security
  • To ensure the delivery of the H&I customer expectations on every visit, through the Sales team
  • Ensure that there is effective external liaison with all customers, in particular, all complaints associated with H&I are handled effectively and in line with the company policies, procedures and standards with any issues to be reported to Showroom Manager, Head of Finance and Operations and/or Chief Executive.
  • Undertaken training to increase product knowledge as required. Supports the Showroom Manager to ensure all staff possess and are driven to continually develop excellent product knowledge.

Key skills and experience:

  • Experience and a passion for luxury watches and fine jewellery
  • High level of knowledge of jewellery/watches 
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service and experiences, preferably in a luxury retail environment
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well organised and strong administration skills
