We are thrilled to introduce three new brands to our showroom for 2019 – Annoushka, Marla Aaron, and Charlotte Chesnais, and celebrate an existing, respected designer - Georg Jensen. A champagne-filled, canape-fuelled, artistically lit Designer Showcase event in collaboration with iOn Magazine on 7th February 2019 was the perfect way to welcome our new brands to Hamilton & Inches and introduce them to Edinburgh. Illuminated by Jamie Cooper’s sculptural objects, our designer showcase brands were sparkling under (literal) streetlight, and our guests quenched by a range of cocktails specially designed to reflect the ethos of each designer.
Annoushka
The woman originally behind Links of London, Annoushka is inspired by creating fine jewellery designed by women for women. “I create what I like to wear. It must be comfortable, versatile, unfussy, yet also tell a story.” Annoushka has travelled the world to find extraordinary stones and inspirational craftsmanship. Colour is one of her biggest inspirations, using it to make her pieces bold, playful, wearable and glamorous. The charm, the style, the vivid colour, the meaning and the personality of Annoushka’s jewellery makes it a cherished asset to the Hamilton & Inches range.
Charlotte Chesnais
Trained at the Studio Bercot in Paris, Charlotte Chesnais designed jewellery for Balenciaga before establishing her own brand in 2015. “My work calls into question the material and the method. I like to twist metal, to melt it, to shape it, to give it an abstract form somewhere between jewellery and sculpture.” Not subscribing to the concept of jewellery coming in and out of fashion, her pieces are sophisticated, timeless classics that will never go out of style. Hamilton & Inches and Charlotte Chesnais share a passion for silver jewellery. Her modern yet classic style is nothing short of visionary, and her designs are nothing short of beautiful.
Georg Jensen
Over a century old, the Georg Jensen brand is synonymous with quality craftsmanship and timeless aesthetic design. Dedicated to delivering functional and beautiful designs, George Jensen’s style is Art Nouveau with a modern edge. “The philosophy of Georg Jensen himself was to create democratic designs possessing both functionality and beauty. His artisanal skill and artistic talent combined with his continuous ability to identify and support design talent was the foundation on which he built Georg Jensen in Copenhagen in 1904.” Hamilton & Inches has been partners with Georg Jensen for decades. With exceptionally high quality, slick and modern design, Georg Jensen has always delivered timeless jewellery that is eternally fashionable without following trends.
Marla Aaron
Self-described as a ‘rebellious little company’, Marla Aaron launched her collection in New York in 2013. Born from a lifelong passion for jewellery, her eponymous lock designs are unique, striking, inspiring and beautiful. From a single design, she now has a collection of over 500 pieces. We were delighted to welcome Marla Aaron herself to our Designer Showcase event. The dedication from her fans is boundless, with one customer driving over 2 hours to the event to meet her. The only Marla Aaron retailer in Scotland, Hamilton & Inches adores her modern, fresh designs and her dedication to standing out from the crowd.
