The origins of the FOPE brand date back to 1929, when founder, Umberto Cazzola, took over a small goldsmith’s workshop based in the northeastern Italian city of Vicenza. After some years, the business was passed on to Cazzola’s son, Odino, who applied his inherited pioneering approach to help grow the company.
The family-run business capitalised on the strong economic growth of the country following the war, and converted the small goldsmith business into a cutting edge factory. This new era paved the way for the innovative jewellery design systems we see throughout the brand’s acclaimed collections of rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets today.
In the 1950s, FOPE began producing flexible watch bands, which it supplied to some of the largest Swiss watchmakers at the time. Naturally, this resulted in a huge surge in demand for the high quality watch elements, allowing FOPE to begin investing in further research and development of its goldsmithing techniques to move into fine jewellery design. By the 1980s, the now-iconic Novecento mesh chain was born. Today, the unique jewellery design is instantly recognisable and encompasses the true essence of the FOPE brand.
Another milestone came in 2007, when the innovative Flex’it system received a patent. The system utilises tiny gold springs hidden between each link of the mesh chain to create fully flexible jewellery designs that mould to the fingers and wrists of each individual wearer.
FOPE Jewellery Collections
Over the years, FOPE has developed a stunning selection of fine jewellery pieces. Each of its distinct designs can be categorised by the following jewellery collections:
Eka, meaning ‘one’ in Sanskrit, embodies the essence of the innovative jewellery designs by FOPE. The collection features rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings in gold and diamond designs which are crafted using the brand’s unique flexible mesh chain technology.
The essence of everyday. The Essentials collection, consisting of rings and earrings has been expertly designed to be worn with any other FOPE collection. Crafted from exquisite 18 carat gold, the 2021 collection is characterised by elegance, versatility and affordable prices.
The Meridiani collection includes timeless and beautiful pieces of jewellery that add a touch of luxury to any everyday style.
The Mialuce collection showcases FOPE’s passion for luxury jewellery design and innovation. Combining the two, this collection boasts a range of contemporary pieces that feature the modern day goldsmith techniques of the jewellery expert and dazzling diamond details to make the perfect statement items.
The Panorama collection combines the timeless elegance of FOPE with a modern twist, thanks to the wider, flatter designs in earrings and necklaces, as well as Flex’it rings and bracelets.
The Prima collection features designs crafted using FOPE’s innovative mesh chains, but in slimmer styles. Pieces can be worn alone for an understated look, or stacked in order to really make a statement.
The Solo collection is the best selling Flex’it collection to date. The line takes inspiration from FOPE’s past, with pieces being modelled after designs from the nineties. The collection of necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings are available in simple gold designs, or with diamonds and other intricate detailing.
The Vendôme collection features elegant ring, bracelet, earring and necklace designs that put a contemporary twist on the traditional chain shapes present in other lines. The result is not only stylish, but is incredibly comfortable to wear too.
