For over 155 years, we have been tirelessly working to preserve the future of craft in Scotland. Our current team of artisans comprise of five silversmiths, two goldsmiths, two hand-engravers, one polisher and two watchmakers, from Edinburgh, Scotland, the UK and Europe. Supported by a team of valuers and service professionals, Hamilton & Inches has never been more proud of our ancient crafts that still remain so popular today.
Amongst the display are several items crafted by our exceptional team, including our hand-crafted Engagement Collection, items of silverware and more. Discover some of the pieces below.

Fairmined Silver Goblet
The highly contemporary minimalist design of Ruth Page's fairmined silver Goblet was inspired by Scotland’s railway infrastructure and architecture, parts that mostly go unnoticed. The exterior of the goblet echoes the weights used on signals.
Ruth's creation was commissioned by the Scottish Goldsmiths Trust after winning the coveted Outstanding Student Award in 2019.
Ruth is an active part of our silversmithing department and has been heavily involved in the creation of our latest Luna and Ginkgo collections.
Originally, I didn’t want to be a silversmith, I was more drawn towards jewellery. But I’ve completely changed my mind. I enjoy working on larger scale objects and I'd love to be a silversmith for the rest of my life. And I so love working with silver. You can do so much with it because it’s so soft.
Ruth Page, Trainee Silversmith
Every day there is a new challenge at Hamilton & Inches. As masters retire and I continue to work my way up the ranks, I have had to get out of my comfort zone, push my own skills and build confidence in my trade. With challenges comes pride, however. No piece is completed until I am happy.
