Celebrating our Craft

26th August – 5th September 2021

A Treasure Hunt

For over 155 years, we have been hand-crafting items of exceptional beauty; with rare time-honoured techniques mastered over the decades. We have worked hard to collate items of exceptional note from across the world; from trophies to bracelets with a rather "magical" inspiration, our exciting exhibition will showcase some the very best pieces we have created; some which have never been seen in public before.

Our Master Craftspeople

For over 155 years, our workshops have been home to the finest of hand engravers, jewellers, silversmiths, watchmakers and more. Many of the pieces they make are done so quietly, away from the public eye. This exhibition draws together over 50 exquisite items to commemorate the exceptional, rare skills of our team.

The Art of Magic

The Lumos Maxima bracelet: a bewitching charm bracelet created in 2013, inspired by J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter stories. To the author, charm bracelets are imbued with memory and sentiment - “They have meaning beyond the mercenary. They are personal amulets.” This unique piece of jewellery raised £20,000 for Lumos when sold at auction. It will be a star attraction at our exhibition.

Championing the Best

We are extremely proud to have made a number of sporting trophies celebrating achievements from across the world. For 150 years Hamilton & Inches’ talented craftspeople have passed their knowledge and skills from one generation to the next, creating trophies to honour sporting greats.

"Our 155th year is the perfect time to celebrate our past creations. Celebrating Our Craft allows us to showcase a collection of exquisite items and share the incredible stories behind them."

- Victoria Houghton, CEO of Hamilton & Inches

Some Items We Are Celebrating...

Tamdhu 50 Year Old

In 2017, we were proud to craft an exquisitely-designed decanter for the oldest bottling of Tamdhu, coinciding with the distillery’s 120th Anniversary. Just 100 bottles of Tamdhu 50 Year Old were made available globally. On display as part of Celebrating our Craft is the very first bottle produced.

The Scottish Open Trophy

One of the greatest sporting tournaments in the world, The Scottish Open is played yearly at one of the exceptional championship courses in Scotland. Won by many golfing greats, the trophy is a one-of-a-kind spectacular bowl, featuring piercing, polishing and hand-engraving.

The Scottish Women's Cup

The Scottish Women's Football Scottish Cup, known as the SSE Scottish Women's Cup, celebrates the very best of sport and sportswomen in the country. Although the cup has been hotly contested since 1971, the last tournament saw Glasgow City win in 2019.
