The SGT Millennium Collection at Bute House

Upon entering the new millennium, we were awarded a special commission by the Scottish Goldsmiths Trust to create a centrepiece and candlesticks for use in the First Minister of Scotland’s residence, Bute House. The Millennium Collection for Bute House was the idea of Nicola Williams, our past in-house designer. She and the team crafted a work of art; a symbol of Scotland's design and craft skill, the items being used when entertaining Heads of State.

Silver Bowl

Designed by Nicola Williams, a graduate of dimensional design at the Manchester Metropolitan University, the aim of the piece was to create a piece that was lavish, drawing from Scotland's rich heritage, boasting distinctive character and timeless quality.

Designed to sit alongside the Lion Rampant Candlesticks, the purple hues of the bowls contract beautifully with the simmering silver.
